Born 25 January 1956, Atami-shi, Shizuoka,Japan

1973    

Enters theatrical group TOKYO KID BROTHERS.   

1974   

Performance tour of musical THE CITY covering New York, London. 
Performance with London theatre group LUMIERE & SON,      
participating as actor in Tip top condition and Tip toe codition.

1975 - 1976 

Formation of theatre group ULYSSES, becomes supervisor of.
Direction and performance in various works by ULYSSES.

1977    

Works COLLECTING NET, YOCHU NO KIKI (Crisis of the Larvae)
 by ULLYSES.  These become the proto of HIKASHU.      

1978  

Forms HIKASHU. 

1979 -1981   

HIKASHU releases debut album 20 SEIKI NO OWARI NI from Toshiba  EMI. 
Initially hailed as part of the technopop movement,      
but of a unique and unrestricted quality.    
Releases four further LPs from Toshiba EMI. 

1982    

Releases solo album MINZOKU NO SAITEN (Festival of the People)

1984    

HIKASHU spot contract with Columbia.  Releases one album,   
MIZU NI NAGASHITE, and mini LP, NIPPON NO EGAO. The two       
releases have been compiled and reissued on CD in 1988.     

1985    

Produces two compilation albums, MIYAKO NI AME NO FURU GOTOKU,
I & II.  Reissued on CD in 1988.      
Performance in Spanish playwright F.Arrabal's  DAITENREI (Le  Grand Ceremonial). 
Directed by the playwright. 

1987    

Performance in composer Takahashi Yuji's chamber-opera KAFKA. 
Forms ballet group TUTULAND ACADEMY with Nicholas Dickson 
(formerly of Royal Ballet), and stage artist Kotake Nobutaka; 
direction, performance, and music for works NANIMOKAMO ODORE, 
HEAD CRACKER. 

1988@ 

Album NINGEN NO KAO(FACE OF HUMAN ) released at year end from  CrownRecords.

1989    

Series of session performances following release of NINGEN NO 
KAO, with Sakata Akira, John Zorn, Endo Kenji, Kera, Umezu Kazutoki.    
Joint performance with live computer artist Carl Stone in  Los Angeles.     
HIKASU performance at Nissin Power Station to mark 11th  anniversary of recording debut.  
DAT live recording of this performance later released on CD as HIKASU LIVE.      
Collaboration with composer Miyake Haruna, participation in Miyake's concert series.   

1990    

Release of solo CD single HEISEI JARAN BUSHI from BMG  Victor (May).  
Encore performance of Takahashi Yuji's KAFKA. 
HIKASHU change the name to HIKASU.
Release of HIKASU album TEICHO NA OMOTENASHI from VAP Records (October).    
Performance with voice performer/percussionist David Moss in New York.  
Joint production with and performance in Umezu Kazutoki's CABARET OHBUROSHIKI.

1991@

HIKASU recording in Berlin of HANAUTA HAJIME(HUMMING SOON). 
Performance in the Takemitsu Toru production MUSIC TODAY, 
reading the poetry of Miyazawa Kenji as part of special on   
the works of Takahashi Yuji.    
Release of HIKASU's HANAUTA HAJIME (August).
Re-release of HIKASU LIVE from VAP Records (September). 

1992@ 

Solo recording in New York of KOROSHI NO BLUES, produced by John Zorn.    
HIKASU recording in Berlin of  ACCHI NO ME KOCCHI NO ME. 
Release of KOROSHI NO BLUES (June).  Simultaneous re-release of MINZOKU NO SAITEN. 
Performance in John Zorn's game piece COBRA in New York.
Joins Umezu Kazutoki's klezmer band BETZUNI NANMO KLEZMER aslead singer.    

1993 

HIKASU visual concert at Aoyama Enkei Gekijo titled 
ACCHI NO ME KOCCHI NO ME, with animated visuals.    
Performance in John Zorn's COBRA at Hosei University, Tokyo.
Session with Ikue Mori, David Smith, Otomo Yoshihide, and Tenko at Shinjuku Pit Inn.    
 Participates in Terayama Shuji memorial album.  Composition and 
 performance of track titled ICHIBAN MIJIKAI JOJOSHI.  Released  from Sony Records.    
 HIKASU Japan tour featuring guests Lauren Newton, Hansy Noak.
HIKASU performance in Japan verstehen (Understanding Japan) inBremen with Umezu Kazutoki.   
Participation in Derek Bailey's COMPANY WEEK in Japan.
Becomes organiser and promptor for monthly Tokyo version of 
John Zorn's COBRA at Shibuya La Mama.  Initially planned to  continue for 2 year.  continue for 2 year. 
Performance in New York in John Zorn retrospective celebration with Ikue Mori, Fred Frith; participates also in COBRA and  BEZIQUE.@
